Is it Smart to include Intelligent Lighting?

Intelligent Dance Floor

In the advent of L.E.D. technological advances, Up Lighting, or Lightscaping, has taken center stage for event planners. Armed with the ability to illuminate venues with exciting, brilliant color with extremely low power consuming lighting fixtures, even the most luxurious venues can have their appearance significantly enhanced.
Lightscaping…what is it?
Lightscaping is using lighting to highlight the architectural features of the venue. In the case of a venue lacking any meaningful architectural appointments, projecting color “wash” lighting can also produce a significant improvement in the image of the venue.
L.E.D. technology affords us the opportunity to utilize over a million different color variations in Lightscaping.
Intelligent Lighting gives us this ability. More so, Intelligent DMX Control permits us to vary the intensity of the lighting as well. Event theme colors, such as the color of gowns, decorations, or venue appointments, can be augmented, matched, or contrasted, using Intelligent Lightscaping.
Besides the ability to produce seemingly endless color variations, this L.E.D. technology uses minimal energy, thus allowing the use of many more lighting fixtures in a venue as compared to traditional incandescent lighting.
Intelligent Lightscaping enhances the atmosphere at an event, producing a warm, inviting experience for the attendees. Incorporating Intelligent Lighting on your dance floor area can change the entire demeanor of an event, by packing the dance floor, and providing an exquisite entertainment experience for your guests. Intelligent Lighting can quickly change from soft warm color mood lighting, to high energy club-style lighting, all at the control of a portable computerized operating panel.
Personalized monograms can be projected on the walls, floor, or ceiling of your venue, adding an individualized personal touch to your event.
Is it Smart to include Intelligent Lighting? The answer undoubtedly is yes. In fact, it is simply Brilliant!

Pro Mobile DJ Spotlight — Steve Cie

DJ Spotlight: Steve Cie
DJ Spotlights – Mark Ashe, Featured Post, Industry Interviews

by Mark Ashe

Steve Cie in 1980Steve Cie has been in the entertainment business for a very long time. Thirty-six years, in fact.

His roots began in pirate radio then commercial radio with WVRM (Steve C on the Big V). He’s interviewed Bruce Springsteen, and had the opportunity to work with Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Johnny Maestro & The Brooklyn Bridge, The Dubs, Kenny Vance & The Planotones, The Fabulous Duprees and Rick Alviti — just to name a few.

After spending several years as a radio DJ and working part-time as an event DJ, Steve went full-time as a mobile in 1983 — and he hasn’t looked back since!

Jersey Shore Based Single-Op

In addition to our premier DJ services, Steve Cie Entertainment (www.stevecie.com) also offer clients intelligent lighting and venue light-scaping for just about any type of event.

I’m licensed to perform wedding, civil union, vow renewal non-denominational ceremonies, as well.

My company also offers photobooth and lighting rentals to other DJs.”
The FaCIEd DJ FrontBoard

Building a Better Mousetrap

Steve is also an inventor/entrepreneur. He developed a DJ facade/frontboard called the FaCIEd.

This Lycra spandex booth is easier and lighter to transport than other facades on the market. The name FaCIEd combines my last name ‘Cie’ along with the word ‘facade’.”

One look at its impressive professional appearance, and it’s easy to understand why Steve can hardly keep up with the demands from other DJs for this product (www.faCIEd.com).
Professional Involvement

Steve belongs to and is very involved with the New Jersey Disc Jockey Network. This organization helps educate DJs (both newbies and veterans) to improve their performances and images. Steve likes the fact that at meetings, everyone leaves their egos at the door. He also regularly presents seminars to his peers.

Steve Cie reminds all of us…

“We’re mobile entertainers, not just music spinners. Focus on adding on new elements to your basic DJ services because diversification is good!”

From where do you draw inspiration and motivation? Ferrell answered these and other questions, as well as keys to his success, which have caused him to be fully booked 3 to 5 times the market average.

Secrets to booking “big gigs”, advanced internet strategies, how to use use DMX lighting to create the “Hollywood Effect” at events, bridal sales steps were just a few of the key educational seminars presented during the four day exposition..

In addition to the seminars, the conference attendees were treated to some incredible entertainment at The Riviera Hotel & Casino, as Warrant, Naughty by Nature, Cupid, and The Village People performed exclusively for them at The Top of The Riv.
